The Two Children at Midnight

Updated 05/11/15

The story of King Solomon, the two harlots, and their children, is much more than just a nice little children's bedtime story. It's a story laced with types showing how God will deal with the less than faithful in His Church at the Judgement Seat of Christ (2-Tim 4:1). Categorically we are talking about those Christians (the outer-court & the woman in the wilderness groups) who had gone back into the world to at least some degree more or less, or never really left it in the first place. This ultimately caused their relationship with the LORD to wander and wane to the point to where they went a whoring after other lovers. The story in 1-Kings 3 below is paralleled by the story of the "two baskets" filled with figs, some good, and some bad figs. What should be noted here though, is that even the "good figs" in Jeremiah 24:5 had to be carried away captive from Judah for their own good. In other words, most of the Church is eithert slumbering sleeping right now (Mat 25:5), and there is yet coming a measure of chastisement that God must allow to come upon her in the end-time. This shaking will cause some to arise and receive correction, while others will only move deeper into denial and eventual betrayal of their brethren.

Now don't get hung-up on the fact that both of these women in Solomon's story are referred to as "harlots," because allegorically that is what Christians' become when they will not fully come out of the world and its sensual allurements. Remember, it was the LORD Himself who said even one desirous look towards another [person, position, or possession] that draws us away from our focus on the LORD, and we will be accounted as an adulterous bride. This is why spiritual harlotry is a very easy thing to commit for a "lukewarm" Christian. I know this man has forsaken the LORD'S still small voice at times for a date with a cheeseburger or a good nights sleep, when I should have been fasting and getting before the LORD; so you get the picture. We have, and will all play the harlot to varying degrees at times, if we are not 100-percent faithfully pushing into God and looking for the Bridegroom's secret return (Mal 3:1).

"Then came there two women, that were harlots, unto the king, and stood before him [before the judgment seat of Christ: Mat 25:31-33]. And the one woman said, O my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house [the household of God/the two women grinding at the mill]; and I was delivered of a child with her in the house. And it came to pass the third day after that I was delivered, that this woman [The whore that rides the beast] was delivered also [of the fruit of her labor]: and we were together; there was no stranger with us in the house, save we two in the house. And this woman’s child died in the night [no oil or wine]; because she overlaid it ["she" covered it, vs. the Holy Spirit covering]. And she arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while thine handmaid slept ["they all slumbered and slept"], and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom. And when I rose in the morning to give my child suck [And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!: Mat 24:19], behold, it was dead: but when I had considered it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, which I did bear [2-Ki 8]. And the other woman said, Nay; but the living is my son, and the dead is thy son. And this said, No; but the dead is thy son, and the living is my son. Thus they spake before the king... v27 "Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child [2-Ki 8: 3-6], and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof. " 1-Kings 3:16-22; 27

We see the timing for this event involves midnight, which helps to establishe the chronology and the types. We also see that the "harlotry" had to of taken place well before that time. Yet, before the "third day" one of them was delivered of a male son (a "man child": Rev 12:5), and so was eventually rewarded with the fruit thereof.

The Types In 1-Kings 3

The Repentant Woman/harlot:

This woman represents the part of the Church that brings forth the "man-child" spoken of in Revelation 12, which same man-child is nothing more than individual Christians from around the world who have followed the Lamb in all that He ever said or did, and who will receive the "double portion" of the Spirit: the fullness of Christ within. This is the process of the called out of the called out of the called out. This "woman," although knowing God's will for her life, was not quite able to make herself ready in time for "Christ's" appearing because she did not have enough oil [anointing/relationship] at midnight. Nevertheless, the (man) child that the woman birthed, will become the Two Witness ministry at the time of the actual marriage (Mat 25:10). Thus, we see this is just another one of the symbolic stories in the Bible where a "woman" brings forth a type of the "man child."

The Unrepentant Woman/harlot:

This woman refuses to amend her ways. In fact, the story tells us once the true mother gives her the living child to save it, all she really wants to do is to kill it! She wants noting to do with that which comes solely from God. Oh she wants to look like a good mother of Israel, but her heart is for another lover—the world! This woman represents that part of the church (that part of the stars) that will fall from the sky (those that forsake their salvation). She is that part that is darkened by one third; she is "apostate"; she is a "goat," and will go into the "blackness of darkness forever" as Jude speaks of.

"Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water [anointing], carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever [So much for "one saved always saved"]." Jude 1:11- 13

And Stood Before Him:

Here is a picture of what's called "The Judgment Seat of Christ," as portrayed by King Solomon (Mat 25 below). Here is a time where the less than totally faithful that "remain alive" after Armageddon ("Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days": 1,335-days), will stand before Yeshua Christ and the overcomer Saints. This takes place at the start of the seventh millennium (see: The Throne Judgments).

"When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth His sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left." Matthew 25:31-33

The Two Children(male sons/man-child):

As previously discussed, Revelation 12 tells us of the man child company coming forth from a woman at midnight to manifest the power and presences of Christ onto the world. However, we are told of another woman in Revelation 17 that is actually called the mother of harlots; she too brings forth a son. She brings forth an apostate and backslidden church. So there will be a dead church on the earth at that time that thinks it is alive, and there will be a living Church that seems as if it is dead. Those that were once enlightened to the way of righteousness, will have already, or are going to fall away from the truth once true persecution is allowed to come upon the whole household of God. These Christians will be under the control of the False Prophet of Revelation 13 (the beast from the "earth"/ the Pope) and will be forced to submit to the politically correct beast system found at the beginning of Revelation 13 (the beast from the "sea"). Nevertheless, the true Son's of God will go forth to preach and reprove the world of its unrighteousness, while the counterfeit sons will at first try to copy this ministry, but eventually they will fail and then help to kill the true Son's saying, "These are all of the Devil, we are the true children of God." Now keep in mind, what happens to the man child ministry during their 42-months of ministry, will in many ways pattern what happened to Jesus during His 3.5 years of ministry.

Overlaid it:

If you read this story carefully, you would have seen that both these women were "slumbering and sleeping" before midnight. Both were pregnant with child, but only one brought forth life! And like so many other stories in the Bible, we see the same unrighteous claim to God's authority over a situation that was not someone's to claim. We see this with Hagar and Sarah, and with  the story of Athaliah in 2-Kings 11, just to mention a few.

"And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal." 2-Kings 11:1

Third Day/The Judgment Seat of Christ:

This time is depicted in the Bible as a time of judgment upon the living. As discussed in The Seventh Millennium... book, the Church can actually be sub divided into three levels of spiritually maturity, and each will have its own degree of corrective judgment coming upon it starting at what the Bible calls "midnight." Apparently, the last woman in our story (the unrepentant one) thinks she can just manipulate things in her favor and nobody will be the wiser as to who or what she really is (LORD, LORD, when did I not feed thee...). This situation is paralleled in Isaiah 4 below, but as with King Solomon, our God will not be mocked or fooled when it comes to who is really moving in righteousness and who is/was not.

"And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man [child], saying, We will eat our own bread [these refuse to hear sound doctrine], and wear our own apparel [and refuse to have their natures /covering changed]: only let us be called by thy name [meaning they want into the wedding feast without the proper garment on; CBNO: Christian by name only], to take away our reproach ["give us your oil"]. In that day shall the branch [Jesus] of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth [Rev 14:15] shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of [both spiritual & natural] Israel. And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning." Isaiah 4:1-4
