The Vision of the Evening & Morning: Daniel 8
The question is asked by the departed saint in Daniel 8, "How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give BOTH the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?" Or to put that question another way one could ask, "When will the part of the vision concerning the people of the outer court and the people of the sanctuary being trampled begin to take place"? If the answer were to be stated as plainly as possible by the other saint it could have read, "Not until 2,300-days/years (with each day being a prophetic year seeing this principle is used often in prophecy) have past, then you will see Revelation 11:2 come to pass." You see the 2,300-days cannot all be counted during the "time of the end" because Revelation 11:2 tells us the actual time period for the treading ("trampling & troddening") under foot is only 1,260-days long. Thus we must remember the question was only "When will it start," not how long will it take. There is some conflict between these two prophecies in Daniel 8 and Revelation 11 if all the time (2,300-days) is to be counted from within one time period during the great tribulation.
Although the vision in Daniel 8 encompasses a very broad time span, its focus is on "when" the time of the end would begin if we are to count down from the "little horn's" inception. More precisely though, from the time when the spirit of the little horn (meaning small in power) would begin to come forth. However, one must remember three things when calculating anything in the Bible. The first is that no one can really tell the exact precise year that we are in due to the various ways the different calendars where calculated throughout the thousands of centuries. Second, God teads to use exact 30-day months and 360-day years when it comes to revealing prophetic events, but not always! And thirdly, God said that even if man were able to set accurate dates, he would never know "the day nor the hour..." because He, Christ, is going to delay His coming until His bride has made herself ready. In other words, right when the best and most well intended biblical scholars have calculated their best guess return date using the best science, Levitical laws, feast days, types, leap years, or whatever, Christ will not be returning then because He has already told us He must delay that return until Zion has awakened, travailed, and trimed her lamp enough to be ready to recive His fullness. And if you have read my other materials you would have seen that my best guess showed the Lord should have returned by 2008, but in true biblical order Christ is now tarrying and delaying that first "end-time" secret coming that He promised. He must do this until His true Church is brought into the place where she can receive the fullness of His power without being destroyed by it.
The best clue I could give anyone as to when the secret coming (which is not the open coming at Armageddon) of Christ into His spotless bride/earthly temple would be, would be to watch "Zion." Watch the people God describes as heirs (daughters) of Zion; those Christians who are striving to follow the Lamb wheresoever He goeth. Watch for the time when even these faithful believers are persecuted and brought into a time of travail and trimming like never before. Once you see that (the midnight hour) begin, the "birth" of a new nation will shortly follow. Although our shortly and God's shortly may be quite different.
"Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies. Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child. Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once [at the marriage]? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children." Isaiah 66:5-8
2,300-days/years from the Little Horn, until the sanctuary is [/begins to be] cleansed
2,300-years: 300 BC – 2000 AD + 8-years = 2008, but now the LORD "tarrys" and "delays" His coming.
Keep in mind the Gregorian calendar is lagging by approximately 8-years. Additionally, Seleucus would have claimed his new supremacy after the 301 BC battle, which is when the "Little Horn" would have truly been birthed.
