"And when the thousand years are expired, Satan
shall be loosed out of his prison-
And shall go out to deceive the nations-
which are in the four quarters of the earth-
Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea-
And they went up on the breadth of the earth-
and compassed the camp of the saints about-
and the beloved city-
and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them."
Revelation 20:7-9
This pictorial of what will happen "after the thousand years have expired," quite frankly shows us that all sorrow, all pain, and all death, has not and will not, "be done away with" at the start of the seventh millennium. These verses in Revelation 20 prove to us that not everyone will be obtaining onto the image and the likeness of GOD during the thousand years. We know this because we're also told there will be sinners as the sand of the sea at the end thereof. Howbeit, this is what the seventh millennium is for: to usher in perfection/completeness for all who would have it, and to weed out the last of the tares. This will then complete the final separation of the just from the unjust. The verses in Revelation 20:7-9 that were portrayed above, are paramount to understanding what the world will be like during the thousand year reign. You see, many have told me that they believe (because they were taught) the Earth will forever be at total peace, and no one will ever be able to sin again after Armageddon, but that is not the case at all. Man will forever possess his free-will; people will still be making choices during the seventh millennium, and apparently many will not be making the right ones. Quite a few prophecies even speak of such things as "plagues" and "judgments" coming upon those who will not "come up" to keep the feast of Tabernacles during the thousand year reign.
"And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles." Zechariah 14:16-19
If that doesn't begin to change your concept of the next age, I don't know what will? However, let's look at another prophecy that tells us some of the brethren are even going to have servants (slaves). You will need to read the accompanying verses to see the chronology of this prophecy, just in case you have any doubts about the timing of these events.
"And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors. And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve." Isaiah 14:2-3
All in all, I would have to say that much of the Church has formulated some incorrect mind-sets in this area concerning life in the seventh millennium. Beulah land, Heaven on Earth, can only rightfully fully appear at the time of the new beginning. Meaning, that which follows the White Throne Judgment, or what one might call the Eighth Millennium.
